WHAT’S COMING UP:
Liberty Rumble – Monday, August 23rd. This will be hosted at Liberty (7777 S. Garnett Rd. Broken Arrow, OK 74012). Everyone is welcome. All dojos, ages, and ranks are welcome. Registration starts at 6:00, judges meeting around 6:15, competition starts at 6:30. Donations accepted at the door to benefit the Geber Derek Boys’ Ranch.
Surrey Hills Missions Tournament – Saturday, August 28th. All proceeds benefit the Geber Derek Boys’ Ranch.
Alaska – September 1st-12th. A few people will be traveling to White Mountain, AK to do demonstrations in the schools, hold self defense classes, train the with the karate students there, and spend time with the McElwee’s who are a missionary family who trained for several years at Colonial Hills and Jacksonville dojo before they moved to Alaska. There is still room on the team for one or two more upper belt adults. Cost will be around $2,000.
Black Belt Test/Honors Picnic – Saturday, September 25th. This will be held at the Hombu Dojo. Anyone needing a place to stay Friday or Saturday night is welcome to stay in the bunkhouse at the camp (just let me know you are coming, how many people you’re bringing with you, and for what night/s). The picnic will immediately follow the test where Mission recognition, tournament season champion awards, and instructor honors will be presented. We’ll need a few guys to bring grills to help cook the hamburgers and hotdogs. Everyone else is welcome to bring drinks, sides, desserts. Please let me know by September 18th how many people you’ll be bringing and if you’ll be bringing something so we can plan accordingly. All ABKA families are welcome to this event.
